"Ajjivakam or Assevakam" is one of the significant philosophical school of thought and played a vital role in Indian Philosophical history and ancient indian history as well.
This school of Philosophy got extinct today.
This philosophy was started by "Makkali Goshal' which is referred to as "Atheistic Philosophy" The doctrine of atheism is not new to India and there were many atheistic philosophies in ancient India, including Charvaka, Jainism, and Buddhism.
Ajeevaks were the ones who adopted some peculiar philosophical thoughts like Non-existence of God, Non-Karmic inclinations.
They completely rejected the Law of Action
( Karma - Sidhanth) and upheld the Absolute Determinism.
Absolute determinism means that the doctrine of karma does not work.
Our life is pre-determined.
No matter how hard we try, our life is pre-determined by work that will not change our lives.
Radheshyam film also portrayed the same and the protagonist in this film is shown as a Ajivak. He is a Palmist in this film whose ideas are similar to Ajivaks and the protagonist is shown as an absolute determinist.
The protagonist strongly believes that life is already pre-determined If we try to change our lives it won't change at all
simply, the law of action you perform will not work at all but at the end of the film the director reinforces the theory of karma and proves that what the hero believes is a absolutely wrong and strongly convinces us that Karma - Sidhant is real and it is beyond the thought you never know also, he ( director ) clearly rejected the concept of "Absolute Determinism" with his cinematic philosophical brilliance.
The doctrine of karma was accepted by the ancient Indians and is still believed by Indians strongly.
"Our life is in our hands, not in the lines of hands " is an important gist of the film.
Noteworthy question arises now,
Are Karma and Absolute Determinism
(Fatalism) both same ?
Answer :
No, fatalism ( Absolute Determinism is also called as Fatalism ) is the illegitimate step child of karma. Fatalism is the belief that all events are predetermined and therefore inevitable. But karmically speaking, the future is more fluid and a probable karma is what happens if you don't act to change it. Teachings on karma hold that the future is the combined product of the past, present, and in a sense the future itself because we continually set new forces in motion. The future is in part determined by what we have done in the past but the forces that we have set in motion that will manifest in the future are constantly be modified by free will and conscious actions now. Therefore, the future can be modified and altered by actions in the present where the “present” is understood to be not only the present incarnation but all incarnations prior to manifestation of the possible or probably future.
